Ok so Ethan Hawke, Don Cheadle Richard Gere and Wesley Snipes...plus a great title and a Jay-Z song in the trailer. This has to be the movie of the year, right? WRONG.

I had such high hopes for this film and it left be beyond disappointed. The film started off slow and I was waiting for the "scene" for it to pop off. Finally, about 20 mins in Wesley Snipes comes on screen so I figured, here we go. WRONG again. The movie never really got started, minus a few good "shoot out" scenes it was very slow and dragged on. The end was Ok but I wouldn't watch it again, even on cable. It left me disappointed and thinking, Really?? That's it. With those actors and a great title, it could have been so much more. Hard to believe it was the same director as Training Day, whoch I thought was great. The best parts of this film are in the trailer :(

1 and a Half Stars. lol

Brooklyn’s Finest

® Overture (133 min.)

Directed by Antoine Fuqua. With Richard Gere, Ethan Hawke, Don Cheadle, Wesley Snipes.

Ratings note: The film contains gory violence, sexual situations, nudity, strong language and substance abuse.

Hurt Locker was just an ok war movie in my book. I thought Body of Lies was better for middle east warfare. Granted the movies are really different but the plot was so much more involved in Body of Lies. Plus, how is it the and EOD officer all of a sudden picks up a sniper rifle and picks off enemy at 500 + yds. Yeah...ok

Not related to the above....

SHUTTER ISLAND IS THE MOVIE TO SEE.......10 STARS!!!!!! (are there that many???!!)
ALL HAIL TO THE DOCTORS.....THE DOCTORS OF FUNK........THEY HITTIN' YOU WITH THE MINIMAL SUBLIMINAL FUNK

Brooklyn's Finest was ok. Good movie but nothing to rave about. Shutter Island was nice.

I personally felt the same way about the Hurt Locker. It seemed to be an OK war movie. Thats about it.
Avatar regardless of what anyone says is the best movie of the year.
